I grew up in the forests of Northern Ontario and have always had a very strong connection to the earth. Following whispers in the wind from the mountains, I moved out West to pursue environmental management for many years until I realized my call to serve was beyond the desk.

When I found yoga in 2007, it taught me that within myself I held the power to create the life I want to live. My devotion to my practice brought much love and light into my world and I became inspired to share these teachings with others.

I took the seat of the teacher in 2011 and my path as a yoga instructor has followed several curves, including owning and carrying Shala Yoga studio through the COVID pandemic and taking a pause as a teacher while I brought my two beautiful babies into the world.

Becoming a mother was one of the most transformative experiences of my life. The profound beauty and expansion of my heart to hold such deep, pure love contrasted with the most challenging undertaking I’ve ever known has often left me feeling a confusing mixture of awe and gratitude combined with devastating isolation and grief for the parts of me that are lost forever.

Eight years in and parenting is still such a journey of peaks and valleys for me, but one thing I'm quite clear on is how fundamental it is to have a strong and supportive community of other women throughout the radical transformation that is motherhood.

So let’s gather. Let’s share. Let’s learn from each other. Let’s celebrate our beautiful babies. Let’s hold space for each other while we cry. Let’s laugh about the insanity of it all. Let’s go into the forest and scream out all that we’re holding inside. Let’s recognize our strength, our courage and our devotion. Let’s hold sacred ceremonies with each other to honour all of the darkness and the light.  Let's walk this path together...
